Pine Cove's dedication and relationship with its customers is evidenced by the fact that Pine Cove is still working with many of the clients it first started working with in 1993.
There are countless reasons why technology is a key aspect of learning in schools. Whether we like it or not, technology is everywhere; and in order for our students to survive in post-secondary education and the business world, they must know technology.
Not only that but schools are targets for hackers because they hold large amounts of personal data. A school needs secure technology - firewalls, MFA solutions, and other security practices to protect their district's data.
Pine Cove does not offer cyber insurance. However, Pine Cove does offer a variety of products and services to help you meet your insurance requirements. We can implement a wide range of cyber security services and products, such as multi-factor authentication , endpoints, phish threats, encryption, managed threat response, cloud optix, email, wireless, and mobile synchronized security.
While Chromebooks look like laptops, they operate very differently. The primary difference is the operating system. According to Google, laptops run on operating systems such as Windows, Linux, or OS X while Chromebooks run off of a faster and simpler operating system, Chrome OS.
Laptops provide a more upgradable and complex computing experience while Chromebooks provide a standard, what you buy is what you get, experience.
Laptops can run applications while Chromebooks run solely off of web based programs.
There are more technical differences, but I think highlighting the differences above suffice for comparing the two for educational reasons. Pine Cove Consulting recommends our clients use Chromebooks in the classrooms for two main reasons:
Chromebooks are less expensive than a laptop. Also, Chromebooks are easier to manage.
We do offer internships for students. In fact, one of Pine Cove's Technicians, Matt Sharp, was an intern for a few years before becoming a full-time Pine Cove Employee. Reach out to your account manager if you have a student interested in interning for Pine Cove's tech team.
Yes! There are infinite reasons why technology is important in business. Whether we like it or not, the role of technology in business is expanding and will only keep growing in the future. Businesses owe it to their operations, employees, and bottom line to utilize the new technological innovations. Businesses can no longer devalue the importance of technology in business, they must embrace the benefits of technology.
There are three main types of cyber attacks.
Malware is a general term for malicious software. Malware includes viruses, worms, Trojans and spyware. Many people use the terms malware and virus interchangeably. Malware is more of an umbrella term used to describe a lot of different cyber attacks.
There are five main network security risks. The first is wired network threats and then wireless network threats, BYOD security risks, firewall protection, and finally, employee error.
With so many different types of attacks and even more resources to protect you, this can get confusing. We offer a free IT assessment to help you get started.
